Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
• No previous experience required.
• RCP license and NBRC credentials required within 12 months (RRT or CRT) and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Support patient assessment using pulmonary diagnostics, radiographs, lab values, and blood gas analysis.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-critical care; assist physicians at bedside.
• Provide medications and therapies per orders and protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment; arrange servicing as needed.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Collaborate with departments to educate on patient management.
• Follow policies and adapt to service area requirements; maintain performance standards.
• Communicate clearly; hand off patient information accurately.
• Promote safety and report safety events.
• Teach and precept new teammates and students.
• Care for patients across age groups reflecting development needs.
