Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Reg) to provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care. You will assess, treat, monitor, and educate patients with respiratory conditions while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage devices, document care, and participate in patient care planning. Apply your expertise in oxygen therapy and advanced respiratory support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred or CRT credential required, as applicable.
• Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred or required per departmental policy.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapies per physician orders and document in medical record.
• Perform ABG sampling, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Conduct daily maintenance and calibration of blood gas analyzers and co-oximeters.
• Set up and monitor oxygen delivery systems, ventilators, and related equipment.
• Perform bedside spirometry and weaning assessments; communicate findings.
• Respond to emergencies including Code Blue and RRT activations; perform CPR as needed.
