Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide cardiopulmonary care across age groups in a hospital setting. You will evaluate outcomes, adjust care plans, and coordinate with the care team to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Responsibilities include applying respiratory modalities, communicating changes, prioritizing tasks, and contributing to cost containment and case management while maintaining high-quality service and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
• (NBRC-CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Apply respiratory care modalities and procedures to a group of patients.
• Evaluate outcomes and adjust care plan to achieve optimal service.
• Identify problems and plan tasks accordingly.
• Communicate patient condition to health staff and physicians.
• Ensure appropriate cardiopulmonary care per policy and procedure.
• Respond to workload changes to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Provide shift reports to the team.
• Participate in case management and cost containment.
• Refer on admission and during hospitalization as needed.
• Assist in evaluating patients for level of care and coordinate discharge planning.

Education
