Job summary

AdventHealth in Killeen, Texas seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist on a StaffFlex contract for a 13-week, full-time night shift (6p–6:30a). You will deliver routine and advanced respiratory therapies, monitor patients, and adjust plans per protocols to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in respiratory care, NBRC-credential maintenance, and BLS/RRT licensure; critical care experience preferred. This role emphasizes high-quality patient care across all ages.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory care is required.
• NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.
• 1+ critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
• Monitors, instructs, and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
• Prevents and/or resolves untoward side effects and adjusts therapies according to protocol and documented clinical criteria.
• Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface a minimum of every four hours, responds to alarms, and troubleshoots as needed.
• Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates the weaning process, adjusting ventilator settings in accordance with patient progress.
