Job summary

Brown University Health’s Newport Hospital seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to administer and evaluate pulmonary therapies and monitor patients with complex respiratory needs. You will coordinate with physicians, perform ABG analyses, and ensure safe operation of ventilatory support systems.

Responsibilities include setting up non-invasive ventilation, managing oxygen therapy, and providing thorough documentation while maintaining patient safety and care quality.

Qualifications

• Rhode Island Respiratory Care Practitioner license (RCP) required; CRT required; RRT preferred.
• Associate degree from Cardio-Respiratory Care Program.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer and evaluate a wide variety of respiratory therapies per policy.
• Set up CPAP/Bi-PAP and non-invasive ventilation.
• Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation and adjust settings as needed.
• Perform arterial blood gases and interpret results.
• Document all findings in the medical record and communicate with physicians.
