Job summary

Mental Health Association (MHA) in Western Massachusetts seeks a Residential Support Specialist to provide a safe, person‑centered environment in community living settings. You will travel between program locations to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism, helping them grow, gain independence, and participate more fully in their communities.

The role requires MAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications, a valid driver’s license, and excellent communication,

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Adaptability to participants' changing needs.
• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Ability to pass MAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered support in daily living activities and skill development.
• Promote community integration by facilitating access to transportation and social activities.
• Support health needs, including medication administration and appointment scheduling.
• Assist with financial skills and maintain accurate documentation of expenditures.
• Respond to emergencies and follow agency protocols.
