Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our rehabilitation team in Oklahoma City. This full-time night shift role runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over 3x12-hour nights and focuses on compassionate, patient-centered care that supports recovery.

You will assist the RN with assessments, implement rehab interventions, monitor pain and safety, and contribute to interdisciplinary plans that help patients regain independence after serious illness or injury.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a current state or compact state LPN license.
• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience: Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Licenses: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
