Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alexandria, LA is seeking a qualified nurse to provide routine and complex patient care during the night shift. You will practice independently, plan long-range goals, and delegate appropriately to care team members.

Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; 1 year of related nursing experience preferred. Must hold a valid RN license in the state or a compact state and BLS. Work schedule is 7PM–7AM, full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable competencies and leads self, others, or leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.
