Job summary

Great River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with a multidisciplinary health team. The role emphasizes bedside shift reports, safety, wound prevention, and active patient education.

You will perform admissions assessments, plan discharge, and ensure accurate documentation. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient status, and collaborating with physicians.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa or eligibility to practice.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Strong knowledge of English language and medical terminology.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary health care team.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition and document results.
• Administer prescribed medications per six rights and hospital policies.
• Provide basic patient care including wound prevention and pressure injury treatment.
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures.
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests as needed.
• Develop and modify individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Coordinate care with physicians and health team members.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
• Delegate tasks to CNAs and LPNs with supervision.
