Nationwide Children\'s Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a registered nurse to provide patient care during night shifts (0.9 FTE, 36 hours weekly), with every third weekend and holiday rotation. The role emphasizes safety, family-centered care, and collaboration with LPNs, PCAs and other staff.

The ideal candidate holds an Ohio RN license and a BSN or associate degree with a plan to obtain BSN within 5 years, plus CPR certification.

Qualifications

• BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current CPR certification.
• Willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs and communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
• Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
• Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and reporting important information to staff.
• Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
