Job summary

Salinas Valley Health Medical Center in Salinas, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse II for night shift in the Mother/Baby department to assess, plan, implement, and supervise patient care per policy and the Nurse Practice Act.

You will collaborate with physicians and health team members, delegate tasks, and participate in discharge planning and patient/family teaching. Requires ASN or BSN preferred, CA RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per AHA standards required.
• Twelve (12) months of service as a registered nurse in an acute care setting.
• Candidates will be required to successfully complete Pharmacology and EKG tests.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents in patient record.
• Develops a plan of care based on patient assessment and age/developmental needs.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team in planning care.
• Provides, delegates, and coordinates the plan of care.
• Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning.
• Initiates, manages, and participates in patient/family teaching.
• Demonstrates implementation skills per Policies and Procedures.
• Evaluates patient response to care plan and updates accordingly.
• Maintains professional standards through in-services and performance improvement activities.
• Facilitates holistic patient care including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
