Job summary

TALENT Software Services in Flagstaff, AZ seeks a licensed nurse to join its skilled nursing team on a 6:30pm-6:30am full-time shift.

You will administer medications, assess residents, participate in MDS, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver resident-centered care.

Strong knowledge of geriatric care, documentation, and communication are required; supervisory duties and staff development are included.

Qualifications

• Understanding of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices.
• Awareness of residents' conditions and changing medical/physical/psychological care needs.
• Knowledge of the effects of the aging process.
• Familiarity with team nursing practices and procedures.
• Experience in developing treatment plans for resident/patient care.
• Knowledge of pharmacology and medicines, including federal, state, and agency laws, rules, and regulations.
• Proficiency in professional nursing methods and techniques.
• Ability to observe and assess patient behavior and progress.
• Ability to apply and interpret state and agency laws and regulations governing geriatric nursing practices.
• Capability to develop and carry out patient care plans within a team nursing concept.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to learn, implement, and monitor AMS methods for problem-solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Receive and deliver information regarding residents' medical, social, functional, and other needs.
• Participate in the receiving and giving of shift reports.
• Communicate with residents, family, and staff to ensure appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team.
• Perform initial admission nursing assessments for newly admitted residents and assist with the development of MDS assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans.
• Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress.
• Lead and supervise subordinate staff and assist as needed with direct resident care, including ADLs.
• Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.
• Utilize AMS concepts and tools for problem-solving and continuous work/process improvements and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned, related to the position.
