You will work night shifts under nurse managers and leaders, providing assessment, planning, and direct care for diverse patient populations while collaborating with physicians and care teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred
• Minimum 5 years Direct patient care nursing experience Required
• All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence base practice.
• Provides relationship-based patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics
• Always partners with the patient and significant others (as appropriate)
• Practices using current clinical practice standards.
• Manage and oversee the care of complex and high acuity/critical pediatric patients
• Q1 hour (minimum) assessment and monitoring
• Provide culturally and developmentally appropriate direct clinical care to patients
• Ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, and Oscillator management
• Cardiac rhythm (EKG) assessment and analysis
• Assess, monitor, and trend continuous vitals
• Manage and appropriately titrate vasoactive, sedation, and insulin drips
• Run and analyze bedside POCT (iSTAT, ABG/VBG)
• Assist with bedside procedures
• Support and/or lead pediatric codes using PALS algorithm
• Sterile dressing changes
• Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner
• Participates and supports performance improvement and shared governance
• Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessment and education
• Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professionals
