Job summary

Performance Foodservice, a PFG broadline distributor, seeks a Refrigeration Technician in Houston to diagnose and repair refrigeration units on commercial trucks and trailers, focusing on Thermo King and Carrier systems.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, 608 certification, ownership of tools, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs; travel may be necessary. Starting pay is $32.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits on day one.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Required Experience: 3+ years working on Thermo King or Carrier reefer units; 608 certified.
• Must own your own tools and be able to lift up to 50lbs and occasionally 100lbs/45kg.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of components on truck and trailer reefer units.
• Maintaining transport refrigeration unit on trucks and trailers by performing diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment, and onboard computers.
• Supports college recruiting efforts by developing relationships with partner universities and participating in recruiting activities to attract students to job openings.
• Completing preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service to refrigeration equipment.
• Maintains truck and trailer refrigeration units and truck's APU by reviewing shop orders.
• Repairing failures; removing, replacing, and testing for Freon leaks, assembling and installing parts and components involving soldering, welding, and the use of refrigeration equipment.
• Installing various new units on trailers, trucks, and vans.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
