Job summary

Lineage Logistics in Rochelle, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our cold storage systems running 24/7. You will troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical, electrical, and ammonia refrigeration equipment, with hands-on work and a focus on safety.

The role requires 1+ year of facility or refrigeration maintenance experience, trade school training, and familiarity with ammonia systems. Certifications (RETA/IIAR) are a plus, and you must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in variable

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience or trade school training in facility, equipment, or refrigeration maintenance (ammonia, CO₂, Freon).
• Hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Ammonia refrigeration certifications (e.g., RETA, IIAR, or equivalent) are a plus.
• Skilled with hand and power tools; basic computer proficiency.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work in cold or warm environments (-20°F to 100°F).
• Flexible availability, including weekends or overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance on ammonia, CO₂, and Freon refrigeration systems, upholding strict safety and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment and facility control systems.
• Document maintenance activities and communicate updates to leadership.
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace and support continuous improvement efforts.
