Job summary

ConGlobal in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Railroad Switchman to move railcars safely in our terminal. You will monitor track switches, inspect conditions, and coordinate with train crews to ensure smooth, on-time operations.

This hands-on role requires physical strength, adherence to safety procedures, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay ranges between $21.37 and $24.04 per hour, with benefits including health coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of rail experience preferred.
• Switching or conductor experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background, physical and drug screening.
• Reliable, punctual and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs both off and on railcars.
• Open availability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement.
• Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify issues affecting safe operation.
• Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars as part of train assembly or disassembly.
• Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approximately 75 lbs).
• Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to ensure coordinated rail movements.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential hazards in a high-traffic rail environment.
