Job summary

York Building Products is seeking a Quartz Plant Operator for night shift to turn raw quartz sand into a high-purity product for the glass industry. This is hands-on work involving running equipment, monitoring processes, testing products, and solving problems.

You will operate dryers, conveyors, and other processing equipment, perform inspections, record data, and ensure safety and quality on the night shift.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt, sand, aggregate, or similar processing plant.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to operate and monitor heavy processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor processing equipment (dryer, conveyors, screens).
• Adjust equipment to keep production running smoothly.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance.
• Run quality tests and ensure quartz meets specifications.
• Record production and quality data.
• Provide loading instructions to truck drivers.
• Troubleshoot problems and think on your feet.
• Follow MSHA safety rules and keep area clean and safe.
