Job summary

Contour Hardening, established in 1986, specializes in induction heat treatment and metallurgical inspections. A Quality Technician will perform metallurgical inspections on in-process parts and may assist as a contract processing technician during high volume periods.

The role operates Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM with overtime potential. Training will occur on the first shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) for four weeks at starting rate of $18/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Quality department experience preferred.
• Destructive quality testing experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor induction hardening machine quench concentration.
• Section parts and prepare samples for quality inspections with blaster, cutoff saw, grinders, polishers and mounting press.
• Inspect and test parts at prescribed frequencies using MPI unit, hardness testers, microscopes and gauges.
• Accurately document inspection and testing results.
• Communicate inspection observations to appropriate personnel.
