Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Quality Engineer Night Shift for the Manufacturing and Technology team, based in Columbus, Ohio, supporting a semiconductor plant project in New Albany. The Quality Engineer will report to the QMS Manager at the project site.

The role focuses on night-shift quality activities, audits, NCR/CR management, and collaboration with global teams to ensure project quality. Strong communication and MS Office skills required.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience
• Must have the right to work in the US
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in the use of PC computers, Microsoft software and database administration

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the quality activities performed at project site on night shift within the quality function
• Coordinates, supervises, and/or participates in the project auditing, surveillances and monitoring program to verify project quality program effectiveness
• Manages quality issues identified by Customer (NCR, COR), their third-party inspectors, and Bechtel identified quality deficiencies (CRs and BQRs)
• Perform In-Progress quality checks for implementation of the quality program at site on regular basis
• Communicate with project functions and services to ensure management goals and objectives are met
• Recommends actions to QMS Manager to correct observed quality deficiencies
• Identifies quality problems, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions
• Maintains client communication for project quality related activities
• Prepare reports on the effectiveness of the quality program/plan implementation
• Performs, leads and coordinate as needed with India project team, supplier/subcontractor qualification surveys, reviews requests for proposals, evaluates bid documents, reviews supplier/subcontractor quality programs, and performs source inspections, surveillances, and quality audits
