Job summary

Sensient Technologies Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Tech I to join our Harbor Beach, MI team. The QC Tech will analyze critical process and product parameters, support calibration procedures, aseptic technique, and troubleshoot equipment during the night production shift.

Responsibilities include raw material and finished product testing (texture, moisture, pH, salt, acidity), microbiological analysis, instrument calibration, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Interest or background in laboratory or scientific work, particularly in food, chemical, or microbiological testing.
• Willingness to follow established procedures and help troubleshoot simple equipment issues.
• Ability to stay focused and organized while juggling multiple testing responsibilities.
• Comfort with basic math, measurement, and documentation along with clear communication skills to interact with both team members and supervisors.
• A degree in a scientific field is helpful, but not required – training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of tests on raw materials and finished products, including texture, moisture, pH, salt levels, and acidity.
• Perform microbiological analyses such as plate counts and swabbing procedures.
• Use precise techniques to support the calibration and upkeep of lab instruments.
• Document and interpret test results while maintaining clear, accurate records.
• Assist with reviewing materials for quality compliance and managing inventory status.
• Help organize and facilitate sensory panels to evaluate product characteristics.
• Collaborate with team members to support process improvements and maintain standards.
