Job summary

Hire Consulting Services is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the Roanoke area beverage manufacturer to lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory, ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will develop the team, review testing results, support audits, and collaborate with plant departments to improve processes and maintain consistent product quality, while working the overnight schedule and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college/technical education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing quality experience.
• Knowledge of food industry practices and laboratory testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
• Willingness to work the stated overnight schedule with flexibility for coverage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, set daily priorities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
• Coach, train, and provide performance feedback to team members.
• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and maintain food safety standards.
• Oversee QA programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Support regulatory, certification, customer, and product specifications compliance.
• Review lab results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends.
• Recommend process improvements based on data and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with internal audits and external assessments.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.
