Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience in clinical care (preferred).
• Behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic meds and med administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs and developing care plans.
• Maintains medical records and educates clients and families about conditions and treatments.
• Transcribes and reviews orders, ensures elements are present and compliant.
• Administers medications with two identifiers and safety checks.
• Communicates with treatment team and participates in unit activities.
• Documents hand-offs and ensures accurate shift reports.
