Job summary

Harbor Oaks Hospital in New Baltimore, MI, is seeking Registered Nurses for a 13-week temporary assignment. The role offers a fixed rate of $65 per hour and is not benefits-eligible. NIGHT shift 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Travel stipends are not provided.

Temp employees may convert to a regular full-time position. Requires at least one year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience and an active RN license. Harbor Oaks Hospital is a leading Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Center.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
• One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience a plus
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by regulations and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Document pertinent patient information and assess status regularly.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in patient status.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Demonstrate therapeutic rapport with patients and maintain professional boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities as directed and communicate with patients, visitors, and staff.
