Job summary

Highlands Behavioral Health System is seeking an Intake Clinician in Littleton, CO to perform psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention and referrals. You will coordinate admissions with the Business Office, Utilization Review and Nursing, while maintaining logs and strong referral relationships.

Responsibilities include evaluating inquiries, admitting patients, collaborating with staff to ensure quality care, and upholding safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field (counseling/psychology).
• Previous psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Handle with Care training may be completed during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests by phone or in person with psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention.
• Provide referrals to hospital staff and outside resources based on problems and resources.
• Assist admissions in coordination with Business Office, Utilization Review, and Nursing.
• Assess inquiry clinical needs and refer to appropriate level of care.
• Maintain daily log of all incoming and pending Intake calls and assessments.
• Maintain good relationships and communication with referral sources.
• Complete patient admissions and collaborate with hospital personnel.
• Promote safety and participate in mandatory inservices.
• Respond to walk-in requests for psychiatric assistance.
