Job summary

Sun Chemical in Amelia, OH seeks a Production Supervisor for Pigment Operations at the Main Plant. You will direct hourly personnel with a sharp focus on safety, quality, and throughput, while planning production, maintaining records, and coordinating with maintenance.

You will lead teams in safety, process optimization, and continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma and Lean tools; ensure financial performance of the department and develop staff accordingly.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma; Bachelor’s Degree preferred (chemistry or chemical engineering ideal).
• Three (3) years minimum experience as a production supervisor or process technician.
• Competence in MS Office software and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure a safe working environment and enforce safety rules and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and manage processes to ensure maximum quality and yield.
• Plan, organize, and direct work of production operators to ensure an efficient operation.
• Responsible for maintaining department financial performance.
• Prepare and maintain production, inventory, and employee records; prepare department reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment.
• Lead labor relations and handle initial disciplinary actions as needed.
• Execute the production schedule as set by site management; drive Six Sigma and Lean projects.
• Develop people through coaching, counseling, and consistent discipline where warranted.
• Participate in Six Sigma, Safety and other cross-functional teams.
• Oversee filtration operations and water treatment processes.
