Job summary

Oldcastle APG in New Jersey seeks a Maintenance/Mechanics Supervisor to oversee plant operations and maintenance ensuring non-stop production of top-quality precast and related products.

The role requires managing safety, schedules, inventory control, and a team of maintenance staff across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

You’ll analyze production reports, drive cost reductions, and maintain compliance with policies while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years industry and general office experience.
• Knowledge of construction products, computers, basic accounting, and inventory.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing / production plants preferred.
• Employee management experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assemble schematic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety rules are followed.
• Set production goals and expectations.
• Ensure proper housekeeping of the plant.
• Analyze scorecards and production reports.
• Oversee yard/warehouse personnel.
• Hire, train, promote and discipline employees.
• Adjust employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage of shifts.
• Plan and manage raw material and finished goods inventory to meet schedules.
• Oversee materials replenishment, quality, and performance metrics while controlling costs.
• Maintain documentation, report hours, monitor timekeeping and overtime.
• Direct maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist diagnosis of equipment malfunctions.
• Monitor equipment for proper operation and issues.
• Estimate worker hours for production schedules.
• Interpret policies and safety regulations for compliance.
• Plan and implement routine and preventive maintenance.

Job Summary

• Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
• Assist and direct workers in diagnosis of malfunctions in equipment and machinery
• Observe mechanical devices and equipment to determine proper functioning or identifycauses of trouble
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
• Interprets company policies and safety regulations to ensure compliance and safe work environment
