Job summary

ACR (AmerCareRoyal) in Hammond, LA is seeking a Production Operator for the night shift. The role involves operating machines that fabricate and assemble paper products, with training provided for those without prior machine operator experience.

Shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4:30pm to 3:00am, with occasional overtime and Friday work at manager's discretion. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour with benefits and an annual bonus program.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
• Prior machine operator experience is a plus but not required—we will train.
• Mechanical skills are a plus and helpful in a manufacturing setting.
• Reliability in attendance and productivity is essential.
• Good communication skills; ability to report issues quickly.
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina are important in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols throughout the plant.
• Perform quality checks to verify product meets specs.
• Observe machine operation and correct malfunctions (forming, glue flow, pasteboard tension).
• Install attachments to machines for gluing, folding, printing, or cutting.
• Cut products to specified dimensions with hand or power cutters.
• Place rolls of paper on machine feed tracks and thread paper through rollers.
• Monitor finished product as it drops from forming machines into chutes to prevent jams.
• Adjust guide assemblies, forming bars, and folding mechanisms as needed.
