Job summary

Texas Health Stephenville invites qualified Respiratory Therapists to join our team as an RRT PRN night shift. You will work in Respiratory Care at 411 Belknap St, Stephenville, TX, supporting patient care in a hospital setting.

Required credentials include AMA approved Respiratory Care Program, RCP, RRT, and BCLS; NRP/NRPA within 90 days. ACLS preferred. This role offers clinical teamwork and opportunities to grow within a leading health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program (required)
• 1 year of experience in Med/Surg or Critical Care (preferred)
• RCP – Respiratory Care Practitioner (required)
• RRT – Registered Respiratory Therapist (required)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support required prior to independent patient care
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
• NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (required within 90 days)
• NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (required within 90 days)

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify physician orders for therapy, validate appropriateness, review medical records, and obtain pertinent history.
• Evaluate each patient using age and diagnose appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Determine patient response to treatment and reassess progress.
• Educate patient and family on treatment plan, safety issues, and home programs/self-management.
• Maintain bedside and ventilator alarms in audible position.
• Communicate with physicians and other healthcare personnel regarding patient care issues.
• Administer medications safely and according to guidelines.
• Document treatment sessions per regulatory guidelines.
• Document assessments of education needs and patient understanding per guidelines.
