Qualifications

• Must have documented experience to obtain state license.
• Valid RRT credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care and Tennessee state licensure with ABG endorsement.
• Current work permit acceptable; permit valid for 1 year; may hire NBRC-eligible graduates as RRT awaiting credentialing.
• Current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates respiratory care competency of clinical skills annually.
• Provide care to patients with respiratory insufficiency under the supervision of licensed physicians.
• Perform all aspects of respiratory therapy including age-specific patient care.
• Operate and monitor ventilation, CPAP, and BiPAP as required.
• Document assessments, reassessments, education, goals, and therapy responses in the medical record.
• Maintain equipment and oversee inventory of RT equipment.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff and students.
• Comply with department policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
