Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a night shift machine operator to operate and troubleshoot basic equipment used in steel wire forming and reinforcement production.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, the use of basic hand tools, and documenting production data while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Training will cover operating different machines and learning processes related to manufacturing steel wire products.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; combination of education and work experience may be acceptable.
• Ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Know and understand basic mechanical processes and equipment function principles.
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of machine and facilities as required.
• Document production information on tally sheets and make basic production entries into computer.
• Understand basic measurement principles including length, diameter, weights, and counts.
• This is a NIGHT shift position.
