Job summary

Perdue Farms Inc. is seeking a Live Hanger to join our production team and help keep operations moving safely and efficiently. You’ll work directly with live birds, placing them into shackles on the moving line to start our processing flow.

This hands-on role focuses on maintaining line speed and product quality while upholding a safe work environment. Night schedule, 8:00 pm–4:30 am, and basic physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
• Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Prior experience hanging live chickens preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on a line and retrieve birds by their feet from a conveyor.
• Hold a bird in weight ranging from 6 to 12 pounds by both feet.
• Hang birds in shackles by their feet on a moving line at a reach of approximately 32 inches at a rate of 18 birds per minute (BPM).
• Ensure that birds are placed in shackles properly to prevent bruising or damaging.
• This position requires regular rotation.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in Company and department safety programs.
