Job summary

Perdue Foods is seeking a Live Hanger to join our Salisbury production team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll work directly with live birds, placing them into shackles on a moving line to support the start of our processing flow, helping maintain line speed, product quality and a safe work environment.

The position has a base rate of $22.45 per hour, with pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available based on performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve birds by their feet from a conveyor.
• Hold a bird weighing 2–6 lbs by both feet.
• Hang birds in shackles on a moving line at a reach of ~32 inches, at ~28 birds per minute.
• Ensure that birds are placed in shackles properly to prevent bruising or damage.
• This position requires regular rotation.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in Company and department safety programs.
