Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Sleep Center polysomnographic technician to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This role may include polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care and education, and oversight of other staff.

Responsibilities include data collection, electrode application, PAP mask fitting, data monitoring, scoring sleep stages and events, and ensuring quality signals per AASM standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree with emphasis in polysomnography required OR BRPT pathway eligibility.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify needs.
• Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing to ensure proper functioning.
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to published standards.
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events per AASM standards.
• Assist with routine equipment care and inventory evaluation.
• Follow lights out and lights on procedures to document data.
