Job summary

Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC in Elkhart, IN is seeking a PLC Technician to support installation, maintenance, and basic debugging of PLCs and automation equipment. You will perform wiring, ladder logic basics, and diagnostics under supervision, with documentation kept up to date.

The role requires familiarity with PLC/HMI setup, sensors, and digital/analog I/O. A rotating 6pm–6am shift is offered, plus a $2/hr night differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
• Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
• Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of PLCs and related automation equipment.
• Basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup.
• Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware.
• Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
• Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning.
• Maintain documentation and logs of work performed.
• Configure, scale, and troubleshoot analog signals and instrumentation.
• Perform basic PLC program uploads, downloads, and online monitoring.
• Use multimeters and basic electrical testing equipment.
