Job summary

Nestlé Purina’s Rockingham County facility near the Virginia border is seeking a Controls Technical Specialist I for night shift. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance PLC and PC-based automation systems on production lines, partnering with maintenance to support line modifications.

This role focuses on upgrades, wiring changes, and ensuring data credibility of control systems, with hands-on programming, calibration, and on-the-floor training of maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; PLC/hmi experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree plus 1+ year PLC/HMI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Configure, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Perform preventive maintenance for controls and organize electrical/control parts inventory.
• Provide programming and electrical support on plant capital projects.
• Implement control systems software upgrades.
• Provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software support to maintenance staff.
• Assist with training of maintenance personnel.
