Marvin Composites is seeking an Automation & Controls Technician for the night shift at our Fargo, ND location. You will troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems, and support control panel upgrades and schematic improvements on the plant floor.

The role involves collaborating with maintenance, automation, and engineering teams to ensure reliable production, with a 6:30 PM–6:45 AM schedule and a shift premium for night hours. Health benefits and 401(k) retirement savings are included.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred, such as Mechatronics or Industrial Technology.
• Three+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems may substitute for a degree.
• PLC programming experience or education.
• Ability to communicate effectively across different department levels.

Responsabilités

• Provide troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance support for PLC-controlled automation and control systems.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Perform timely machine wiring, sensor replacement, control panel troubleshooting support.
• Utilize maintenance systems to document repair requests, track issues, and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient production.

Job Overview

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician on our night shift, at the Fargo, ND location. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys being hands‑on with equipment and applying automation skills directly on the plant floor. The primary focus of this role will be on automation and automatic controls related troubleshooting, repairs and day‑to‑day operational support. A secondary focus includes supporting controls related equipment improvement and upgrade projects, such as equipment upgrades, improvements, program changes and improvements, upgrading or improving control panel wiring, and creating or updating schematics.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Maintenance Technicians, Automation & Controls Technicians, Engineers, and Operations, responding to floor calls, resolving automation and controls issues, and ensuring equipment reliability. If you enjoy diagnosing problems in real time and using your knowledge of control systems to help keep production running, this could be a great fit.

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM

Pay:

$29.00-38.00/hour (based on experience) + 20% Night Shift Premium
