Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled pipe welder to plan, lay-out, weld, install, test and repair pipe and tubular products in line with plans, codes and standards. You will coordinate with field crews and execute precise welds while adhering to safety and production requirements.

Responsibilities include layout, fabrication support, equipment operation and quality inspections; overtime, night and weekend work may be required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder's work.
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld setup, fit the piping and perform welds with precision.
• Lay-out and assemble pipes according to standards, quality, safety and specs.
• Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds.
• Assist with coordination of pre-fabrication layout or installation.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine and related tools.
• Estimate sizes, distances and quantities for work activities.
• Inspect crew work for contract compliance and address deficiencies.
