Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Laboratory - Clinical team seeks a skilled patient care provider for the 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM shift. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection, and accurate data entry in EMR/LIS, with emphasis on quality, safety, and patient care across all ages.

You will support technologists and the Administrative Laboratory Director, manage specimen labeling and transport, and ensure proper chain of custody for urine and blood specimens while maintaining composure

Qualifications

• Experience with venous and capillary blood collection.
• Ability to register patients and place test orders in EMR/LIS.
• Knowledge of age-related patient care and growth/development.

Responsibilities

• Collecting venous and capillary whole blood specimens.
• Chain of Custody urine and venous blood specimens.
• Accessioning, labeling, procuring specimens for testing and transport.
• Registering patients and placing or deleting test orders in EMR/LIS, operation of LIS.
• Assisting technologists and Administrative Laboratory Director with laboratory operation as requested.
