Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at a client site in Abingdon, VA. The role features a rotating night schedule: Sunday-Thursday and Mon-Tue-Fri-Sat, 8:00pm–6:30am.

You will perform venipuncture, collect various specimens, and maintain accurate logs while delivering exceptional patient service. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training; 1 year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Preferred Qualifications: 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Travel to additional sites when needed, reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other Duties as assigned
