Job summary

CommuniCare Family of Companies seeks a Pharmacy Order Entry Technician to support patient care at the Glen Burnie, MD facility. You will input and manage resident information, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and timely communication with facilities and staff pharmacists.

Responsibilities include entering orders, maintaining records in the pharmacy system, triaging calls, and coordinating with billing.

Qualifications

• Must be a Maryland-registered or certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Previous experience in pharmacy or related fields is required.
• LTC pharmacy experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and input resident information to dispense medications safely and cost-effectively.
• Maintain resident information in the pharmacy computer system and update records as needed.
• Use proper phone etiquette to provide facility/resident services and triage calls.
• Triage patient calls and respond to orders inquiries.
• Enter new and refill orders into the pharmacy system for Staff Pharmacist review.
• Maintain customer information and update as required.
• Place outbound calls to facilities to clarify orders when needed.
• Triage incoming faxes promptly and accurately.
• Collaborate with billing operations specialists to ensure correct processing.
