Job summary

Christus Health is seeking a Perinatal RN to provide independent nursing care in a perinatal setting. The shift is 7PM–7AM, part-time, with competency validation and ongoing education requirements.

The role requires a BSN (preferred), active RN license, and BLS. Perinatal credentials (AWHONN FHM, NRP, STABLE, ACLS) are preferred or required, with new nurses entering orientation and precepted onboarding processes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• Perinatal certifications preferred or required as listed (AWHONN FHM, STABLE, NRP, ACLS).
• Credential verification and ongoing annual competency as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family/caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred

RN License in state of employment or compact

BLS

AWHONN FHM certifications (intermediate/instructor)

NRP

ACLS
