Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• American Heart Association BLS preferred.
• Certification as CNA preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric inpatient or related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct continual observation of patients to ensure safety.
• Remain with the patient for the duration of the shift.
• Observe patient behavior and report to RN as needed.
• Support safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Assist with ADLs and support safety in routines.
• Monitor for items that could be used for harm and de-escalate as needed.
• Document observations in the medical record and communicate findings.
• Participate in communication with health care team to care plan.
