Job summary

El Paso Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess, treat and manage patients with pulmonary deficiencies across neonatal, pediatric and adult populations. The role requires independent function in critical care units and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include ventilatory support, airway management and collection of blood gases, with emphasis on evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in adult, pediatric and neonatal critical care procedures.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care License.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE certifications obtained within 9 months in position.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) certification required within 2 years.
• Completion of a two year CoARC approved respiratory care program (Associate's Degree).

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and manage patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the pulmonary system.
• Provide ventilatory support, humidification, aerosols, medication, broncho-pulmonary drainage, CPR and airway management as part of therapeutic care.
• Contribute to quality care through performance improvement techniques in critical care units.
• Function independently with minimal supervision in various critical care settings.
