Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to deliver direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinicians’ supervision, and to assist with telehealth encounters between patients and providers.

You will work with an interprofessional team, promote safety, and support supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations, including possible virtual safety roles as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope.
• Experience with diverse patient populations and teams.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with interprofessional team, patients and families.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists with supplies and equipment to ensure unit efficiency.
• Conducts patient rounds and responds promptly to call lights.
• May support telehealth encounters with remote providers.
