Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Phlebotomy experience or completion of a Phlebotomy course preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology highly desirable.
• 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Working towards approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care under supervision of nursing and medical staff.
• Assists patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Observes patient progress and reports to the Registered Nurse or medical staff.
• Obtains and records vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Performs basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
