Job summary

Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, seeks a night-shift, full-time Adult Psychiatric Unit PCT to join our care team. You will assist with basic patient care under nursing supervision and support daily tasks to ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced psychiatric unit.

Requirements include High School diploma or GED and BLS within 14 days of hire. Phlebotomy experience or coursework is preferred, as is 1 year of acute or long-term care, and growing toward CNA, PCT, or EMT-P

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• Phlebotomy experience or completion of a Phlebotomy course preferred.
• 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Working toward CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification.

Responsibilities

• Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing and medical staff.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
