Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Adult Inpatient Medicine unit (Bigelow 14). The role supports daily living activities, takes vitals, and assists with documentation in the EMR. Shift is 12-hour nights, with a 36-hour work week and mandatory weekend coverage.

Education is a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; BLS and nursing assistant certifications are valued. Onsite at 90 Blossom Street with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS, CMA and Nursing Assistant/National Certification preferred.
• Experience in patient care settings is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities and basic hygiene.
• Record vitals and intake/output; document in medical records.
• Communicate health concerns to nurses and care team.
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility as directed.

Skills

Strong patient/customer service

Knowledge of medical terminology

Lift up to 35 pounds

EMR computer skills

Education
