Job summary

The Patient Safety Observer at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital, Inc. is a Non-Exempt night-shift role (11pm-7:30am) in the NSG Float Pool. It ensures patient safety and comfort while assisting with daily activities and communicating with nursing staff throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include 15-minute checks, documentation, and occasional patient transport or ancillary tasks as directed by licensed staff. Healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; CPR certification within 6 months.
• Preferred: prior healthcare experience; equivalent mix of education and experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous safety observation for assigned patients.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as directed by nursing staff.
• Maintains 15-minute safety checks with documentation.
• Reports issues immediately to the licensed clinical charge person.
• May transport patients and perform ancillary tasks as needed.
• Engages with patients when appropriate and supports overall care team.
