Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Med/Surg on the night shift. The PCT will support RN/LPN in delivering patient-centered care, perform delegated basic care tasks, and maintain safety and infection-control standards.

Requirements include 0–2 years in acute care or enrollment in a nursing program, BCLS within 90 days, and CNA preferred. Location is Laporte, IN, with hospital-based duties and a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
• Collects and records vital signs and other data, reporting to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assists with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and catheter care.
• Assists patient mobility and use of walkers, canes, and wheelchairs.
• Performs finger-stick glucose monitoring and reports results.
