Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking staff for a night shift PRN position in the Float staffing department. You will perform compassionate patient care under supervision, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain safety and comfort for patients.

Responsibilities include observing health changes, documenting updates, and keeping rooms and equipment clean and organized to support excellent outcomes.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the following credentials required prior to hire: EMS credential, Practical/Vocational Nurse credential, or Nurse Aide credential.
• Nursing student who has completed one semester of medical surgical nursing is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate clinical and supportive patient care under supervision to enhance comfort, dignity and overall well-being.
• Assist patients with daily living activities, positioning and mobility to encourage healing and maintain personal safety.
• Observe and report changes in physical, mental or emotional health to ensure rapid care adjustments and precise documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized environment across patient rooms and medical equipment to support optimal clinical outcomes.
